KLSD Learning Cafe: Talking about Diversity

First Graders will recognize materials in the library are organized in specific ways, and independently choose books for interest and information.
Students will respond to literature in a variety of ways, recognize the difference between fiction and Non-fiction, and develop questions to investigate using print and online sources.
First graders are able to take out one new book when they visit the library.
Students who have two or more overdue books out will not be able to take out a new book until all books are returned.
First graders used the engineering design process to plan, build, and improve bird nests. Students researched birds and their nests, and used what they learned to make their plans.
