Welcome to the KES Library!
The KES Library strives to create an active learning environment where students learn to be responsible users and producers of information, practice good digital citizenship, and learn to make healthy media choices. In addition, the KES Library program is designed to develop a community of readers, who will continue to read for information and pleasure throughout their lives.

Say Something! Creating PSAs
Third graders in class 3W created Public Service Announcements inspired by the April Community Read, Say Something, by Peter Reynolds. They wrote scripts and recorded the videos using a green screen app. Tune in to see how KES students hope we can all make the world a better place!
Grade 2 STREAM Project
Grade 2 STREAM - Clean Water Is a Human Right
Second graders used the Design Process to solve a problem that impacts a billion people on our planet: limited access to clean water. They developed empathy by reading stories about this problem such as Nya's Long Walk, by Linda Sue Park and The Water Princess, by Susan Verde and Peter Reynolds. Students created detailed sketches of their filters and built prototypes in the STREAM Lab and Library. Some filters worked well and others did not, but all the students learned they can become problem solvers and designers!
