Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day to our KLSD bus drivers. Thank you for all that you do.

From sketch to story at KES 📖
Author and illustrator Eric Velásquez shared his books "Octopus Stew" and "The Polar Bear and the Ballerina". Giving students a look at how his ideas take shape on the page and what it means to work as both a writer and illustrator, demonstrating how he illustrates by creating a portrait of a student from the audience.

Another Successful Sustainability Showcase 🌱🌎
On Tuesday evening, the district celebrated its sustainability progress and goals with student projects, examples of energy savings across the district, and even a tour on board one of the district’s electric buses.
Elementary school Green Teams showed off their efforts and older students shared research projects. These initiatives focused on recycling and waste reduction, protecting wildlife and habitats, and the impact of everyday choices on the environment, along with ecosystem models and builds created from reused materials. Our community partners joined the conversation with displays and a Q&A panel, highlighting conservation efforts, wildlife education, and sustainable practices.
